Location: Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Illinois.Project Details:
Demolish Building 1712 and Cargo Trainer (Building 1710). The demolition will include the entire building including all foundation walls, foundation footings, all individual column footings, and all associated slabs, walkways, and driveways. The demolition of Building 1712 requires the removal of hazardous materials. All utilities associated with Buildings 1710 and 1712 shall be removed or capped, as required. The site shall be filled and brought to the existing grade with engineered backfill compacted to 95%. Backfill Lift thicknesses should average 12" or less. Finish site with an adequate layer of topsoil and properly seed with grass. Work also includes relocation of all space allocations (drill deck, vehicle maintenance facility, classrooms, offices, and storage) for Navy Cargo Handling Battalion from Building 1712 to Building 523 along with installation of a new driveway connecting Luce Boulevard to the building at the new garage door location, to be installed in room 164. Additional work at Building 523 includes masonry/coping repairs at four corners of building where metal siding terminates on stone coping.See RFP and Specifications for details on scope of work and how to price properly.
